Privacy Policy — Quotags
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This policy describes how Pinewood Creations LLC (“Smorgi Apps”, “we”) collects and uses information in the Quotags iOS app and related services. Contact: support@smorgiapps.com or hello@smorgiapps.com.
The App Store listing also links the studio policy at smorgiapps.com/privacy. If this page and the studio page differ for Quotags, this page is the detailed app policy.
1. Information we collect
It depends on how you use Quotags. We do not sell personal information. The app does not include advertising SDKs or tracking (no IDFA / App Tracking Transparency prompt).
If you use Quotags as a guest
Quotes you save to the private Quotebook stay on your device. We do not require an account for that.
If you create an account (email and password)
- Email address, handle, display name, password hash, optional avatar
- User ID we assign
- Content you post: quotes, captions, comments, photos you attach, and related metadata (time, visibility)
- Follows, likes, blocks, and reports
- Optional phone number if you use tagging / invite / claim features
- Optional physical address if you send a postcard or merch
- Purchase history (Apple In-App Purchase receipts we verify so we can grant credits, Quotags Plus, and design packs)
Contacts: if you allow access, the app can read your address book on-device to help you tag or invite friends. We may store hashed contact identifiers tied to your account for friend matching. We do not sell your address book.
Photos. If you pick or capture a photo for a quote card, that image is uploaded to our servers so we can show the card. If you run AI styling, the image is sent to our image-style processor (OpenAI via our backend) to return a styled image.
Diagnostics. We do not ship a third-party crash or analytics SDK in Quotags 2.0. Our servers keep normal operational logs (IP address, timestamps, request metadata) to run and secure the service.
2. How we use information
- Operate accounts, the feed, Discover, profiles, and guest-to-account features
- Host, display, and moderate user-generated content
- Process Apple In-App Purchases and credit balances
- Fulfill features you ask for (AI styling, postcards, merch)
- Prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
- Respond to support email
- Comply with law and App Store rules
We do not use this data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Sharing / processors
We share information only with processors that help us run Quotags, and only as needed:
| Processor | Why |
|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution and In-App Purchase |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting, API, storage, email delivery |
| OpenAI | AI photo styling when you tap to generate a style |
| PostGrid | Printing and mailing postcards when you send one |
| Printful | Printing and shipping merch when you order it |
We share when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
4. Your choices
- Update your profile in the app
- Report or block other users from quote detail
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete Account, or email support@smorgiapps.com from the address on the account with the subject Quotags Account Deletion
- Guest Quotebook data is removed by deleting the app (it is on device)
We aim to complete account deletion within 30 days. Some records may remain in backups or as required by law (for example, purchase records Apple already has).
5. Children
Quotags is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Retention
Account and public posts are kept until you delete them or we close the account. Operational logs are kept only as long as needed for security and debugging. Processor retention (Apple, print vendors) follows their terms for the transaction you started.
7. International users / rights
If you are in a region with privacy rights (including GDPR or US state laws), you may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing support@smorgiapps.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Changes
We will update this page when Quotags data practices change. The date at the top is the latest revision.
