mindfulAI Keyboard Privacy Policy

No account

mindfulAI does not create an account. You do not sign in.

No keystroke logging

The keyboard does not log or upload keystrokes as you type. Everyday typing stays on the device. Autocorrect and next-word suggestions are on-device.

Data that leaves the device

These are the only mindfulAI data flows that leave the iPhone or iPad:

  1. Text you submit for an AI action. When you tap grammar, a tone, a character, Reply, Translate, Your Voice, More options, Check tone, or in-app mindful guidance, the draft you are composing is sent over HTTPS/TLS to our AWS API Gateway, then our keyboard-ai-proxy, then OpenAI and/or Moonshot AI so we can return a result. The current draft is the text before the cursor, plus after-cursor text if present for reply context. We do not send your keystrokes as you type. We do not keep a user message archive. Tone check is tap-to-check only; it is not automatic idle streaming.
  2. A random device identifier (a UUID, not your Apple ID, phone number, or hardware identifier) used for free-tier rate limits and abuse prevention.
  3. Apple purchase and subscription status via StoreKit, so the app can unlock Pro and restore purchases. Apple bills you. We do not receive your card number.
  4. Your Voice instruction (if you saved one, max 300 characters) is stored on device and included only on the requests that use it.

Full Access is an iOS permission. iOS shows it because the keyboard uses the network for those explicit AI actions and can replace text in the host app. It is not a license to upload your typing stream.

Data that stays on the device

Rewrite/reply history, language, tutorial flags, subscription entitlement flag, and Your Voice name/instruction live in an App Group on your device. They are not uploaded as a backup.

Free history is kept 7 days (view only). Pro can keep history longer, share a card, or copy a result to paste in another app. You can delete history in the app. Deleting the app deletes local data.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell this data.
  • We do not use it for ads.
  • We do not use rewrite text to train public models.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the iOS app.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.

Third-party processors

Apple (App Store, StoreKit). AWS (this website and the rewrite proxy). OpenAI and/or Moonshot AI (model inference for the text you submit). Provider API data-usage policies apply; API data is not used to train their models per those policies.

Retention

Proxy traffic is not kept as a user message archive. On-device data is deleted when you delete the app. You can also clear history in Settings.

Children

mindfulAI Keyboard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Email hello@smorgiapps.com or smorgiapps@gmail.com to ask what we hold or to request deletion of anything that is not already on-device only. We aim to respond within 30 days. Because there is no account, deleting the app is how you clear history and Your Voice.

Purchases

Subscriptions are Apple In-App Purchases only. Refunds go through Apple. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
